Yoga Equipment

What to wear &  bring

Please wear clothes that you are comfortable moving, stretching, sweating and bending over in. Yoga is practiced barefoot. Wearing socks is not encouraged as it may cause you to slip and injure yourself.

Leggings, sweat pants, shorts, t-shirts, tanks and sports bras are all acceptable. Wear less clothing if you are taking a hot yoga class.

If taking a hot yoga class, we encourage you to bring a large towel to cover your mat (and wipe sweat) and a water bottle to hydrate as needed during class.

If you don't have a mat of your own, we will provide you with one to use during class. All props are provided as well.

Studio Etiquette

1. Arrive 10-15 minutes early. This will ensure you have enough time to find our space and get settled before class begins.

Yoga classes start with a few minutes of quiet time to center the mind and relax the body followed by a warm up that will prepare the body for the rest of class and minimize risk of injury. Late students disrupt these very important experiences for other students and risk injuring themselves.

As such, we lock our doors at the start of practice to protect the practice experience for other students and to protect the late student. We also have to lock our doors to secure any valuables in our space.

Please note, if you are locked out of the studio due to tardiness, this will be considered a cancellation or no show and will result in the forfeiture of the class pass (see 'Policies' below).

2. Silence and put away your phone. Yoga is all about turning awareness inwards. Give your phone and your mind a break.

3. Minimize talking to other students during the quiet parts of class. It makes it difficult for other students to hear the teacher and can be disruptive. Please note, questions for the teacher are always welcome (even during practice).

4. Clean up after yourself. We provide cleaning supplies so you can sanitize any props that you may have used during class so they are clean and ready for the next student.

Policies

Cancellation Policy: Students can cancel their reservations for yoga and Pilates Mat classes on their own in our booking system or by emailing info@embodyyogamke.com at least 3 hours before the start of class. We require 24 hour notice for cancellation of our Pilates Reformer + Mat classes. If you have not canceled your reservation within that timeframe, fail to show up for your reserved spot OR are late, the class pass will be forfeited.

Please know, we don't enforce this policy to be mean. Crediting late students and students who no-show for classes that are full with a waiting list is a financial loss that our small business can no longer take. We thank you in advance for understanding and respecting our policies.
